INDOOR FLYING
Changes to Indoor Flying for 2009
Please note that Woodbridge Community Hall only is being used for Indoor Flying in 2009. To make improved economic use of the hall and give all types of Indoor Flyers a chance to fly on the same night the following preset flying times for each type will be as follows.
6.00pm to 7.30pm --Lightweight Rubber powered only.
(Assures undisturbed air and protection from heavier models as well as use of the tallest hall). Also avoids the hire of Washbrook for a relatively small number of people who also prefer Woodbridge anyway.
7.30pm to 9.30pm-- Infrared and Radio controlled electric helicopters and Fixed or flapping wing up to 18” wingspan or rotor diameter in half hour slots.
This is usually the most popular time for these models, works well for time slots and is usually the largest group.
9.30pm to 11.00pm -- Larger 16” plus radio controlled electric indoor shockies only.
This is the most popular time for these models, usually the smallest group and like lightweight rubber should only fly with that type. If no one turns up for this type of flying, which has happened before, then the hall can be used by the previous group or closed for the night as appropriate.
If you have all three types of models you can fly all night if you are up to it! Entrance charges will be the same as 2008.
I have asked our contact at Orwell Park if Nov. and Jan or Feb can be booked, so keep a look out for confirmation of these either in the newsletter or Galaxy Models. It is hoped these changes will enable the meetings to be more enjoyable socially for members and self-financing. See you at the 2009 meetings with those nice new shiny Xmas presents I hope.
